Terms of use

Version 1.0, dated 26 September 2026. Covers the TabsPack browser extension and this website.

In one paragraph. TabsPack is free software under the MIT licence. Use it for anything, including commercially. There is no account, so there is nothing to terminate and no subscription to cancel. It comes with no warranty, and we are not liable if it loses something, which is why it writes plain files you can keep and check. Do not pretend it is yours, do not use it to break the law, and do not attack the support relay.

1. The agreement

These terms are between you and palworks.ai, the maintainer of TabsPack. By installing or using the extension, or by using this website, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not install it.

Where these terms and the MIT licence in the repository conflict on a question of copyright licensing, the MIT licence wins.

2. Licence

TabsPack is released under the MIT licence. You may use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense and sell copies of it, including within a business, subject to the conditions in the licence text: keep the copyright notice and the permission notice with any substantial portion of the software.

The name TabsPack, the palworks.ai name and the marks are not covered by that licence. You may fork the code; please do not publish your fork under our name in a way that suggests we maintain it.

3. What it costs

Nothing. There is no fee, no tier, no trial and no payment method on file. See pricing. If that ever changes it will not change retroactively for something you already have.

4. No account

There is no account, no sign in and no user record. Nothing here creates an ongoing relationship that either of us has to end. To stop using TabsPack, uninstall it; your local data goes with it and your exported files stay yours.

5. Your data and your files

You own everything TabsPack produces. Exported files are your files on your disk. Snapshots are in your own browser profile. We never receive them, so we cannot lose, read, sell, withhold or restore them. How this works in detail is in the privacy policy.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use TabsPack to break any law that applies to you, or to access anything you are not entitled to access;
  • represent a modified build as the official one, or distribute a modified build under our name;
  • attack, overload or attempt to abuse the support relay at tabspack-support.palworks.ai, or use it to send anything other than a genuine support message. It is rate limited, and abuse is answered by refusing the request;
  • use the support form to send unlawful, abusive or deliberately harmful content.

There is no account to suspend, so the only enforcement available to us is refusing requests to the relay. The extension itself keeps working either way.

7. Support

Support is provided on a best effort basis by the people who build it, through the Support pane, support@palworks.ai and the public issue tracker. Nothing here is a service level agreement, and there is no guaranteed response time. We do read everything.

8. Availability and changes

We may change, add to or remove features, and we may stop publishing TabsPack entirely. The support relay and this website may be unavailable at any time.

The design point is that none of that strands you: the format is open and documented, your exports are plain files, and the whole source is published under a licence that lets anyone continue it. That is a deliberate answer to what has happened to other tab managers.

9. No warranty

TabsPack is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that it will restore any particular session correctly in any particular browser.

Browsers change, and an extension is at the mercy of that. Keep your own copies of anything that matters. TabsPack writes plain files precisely so that you can.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages or other liability, whether in an action of contract, tort or otherwise, arising from, out of or in connection with the software or its use, including any loss of data, loss of tabs, loss of profits or business interruption.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions; where that is so, the exclusion applies only to the extent permitted and your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.

11. Third party browsers and stores

TabsPack runs inside Chrome, Edge and Firefox, and may be distributed through the Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons and addons.mozilla.org. Those browsers and stores are operated by their own companies under their own terms, and we are not responsible for them. Installing from a store also puts you under that store's terms.

12. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the version and date at the top change with them and the previous wording stays visible in the repository's history. Continuing to use TabsPack after a change means you accept the new version.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, or of the right to bring proceedings there.
